• It was easy to talk to Alex; he was a go-lucky, happy kinda' guy, and that was nice about him.
"Did you see her hair, it looked like some kind of animal! Jeez, Mrs. Farlin, get a hair cut! Ya know?" I laughed and nodded almost spilling my soda all over,
"And, those weird looking earrings complete the look!" he smiled and got out a binder,
"So, ready to study?" I shrugged and got out my stuff from biology. The class I had with Joey.
"Yeah, let's get started. Alright, well, he said it was a test on DNA makeup. Right? Do you have any notes on that?" he nodded and pulled them out, "Thanks!"
"Alright, you copy those over and you should be pretty much set. I mean, unless you don't get something, if a doodle is in the way or anything." I laughed and traced one of the spirals that was right on top of the title,
"Nice art work." he laughed again and nodded. He laughed a lot,
"Thank you, madam! I was thinking about putting it up in an art gallery!" he raised his eyebrows and smiled.
"There is one thing I don't get though," in no time, my stupid question was ALL cleared up and answered. Alex was cool, he kinda' got my sense of humor, and that was nice considering no one else did.
The next day came too quickly, Alex left at about 7:45. He gave me a hug, and a peck on the cheek and then rushed home.
"Hi, Joey. I just wanted to thank you for saving me in biology!" I said as I approached the stop. He nodded and bobbed his head,
"No problemo. His bark is worse than his bite, don't worry, even though he looks really intimidating, he hasn't killed a fly in his entire life, I'm even willing to bet." he mumbled. I laughed and sat down on a tree stump,
"I'm sure... I'm sure, so Joey, how's life?"
    "Boring."
    "That's nice."
"I know. What about yours?" I thought about my answer. Really, I hadn't thought about how my life was 'going'.
"Kinda... well, good, but, weird at the same time. Like, last night I had a date, but I'm still not... entirely happy." now I was thinking outloud, not talking, "I mean, I guess... I guess I should be, right?" he nodded and walked towards the bus. But, I was hardly aware that the world was even moving around me. Ha.
"Is this going to be a habit? Dude, the bus is here!" I smiled nervously and bored a seat across from Joey's, "How was 'the date'?" he asked, still bobbing his head,
"Good. I think. Yeah, it was good, I mean, if he thought so then it was good." Joey nodded in agreement as Alex walked in and pecked me on my cheek.
