• The building was in bad-condition. The plaster was cracked, the windows broken and boarded up. There were rats and other assorted pests in the walls. The walls were covered in mildew. It looked 30 years older than it really was. Yet it fit in with the rest of the neighborhood.
Suddenly, a man burst through the wall on the third floor, hit the ground, and kept running down the street without even noticing how far he fell. He was followed shortly by three dark forms. The shadows hit the ground with three loud thuds, damaging the asphalt of the road as they landed, and kept running. The man was running faster than any normal man should be able to run, but the three shades were managing to gain on him.
As if from no where, the forms pulled what looked like hand guns from holsters at their sides. They moved in perfect unison. In the same moment, the three fired in the direction of the running man. The man having noticed the guns, leaped into the air onto the nearest building. The shades jumped to meet him.
On the roof, the man was waiting for them. He had a high powered rifle that he had left on the building in case he needed to defend himself. He fired the first round at the center shade. It hit his leg and made him fall. He recovered shortly, but by then the man had closed the distance on the roof and was on top of him.
The man jumped on top of the dark figure. The thing was trying to get a hold on the man, but it was too late. The man had a hold on the armor’s release button. He pressed the button on the back of the neck. The dark helmet of the armor was released. The man pulled the helmet off the head of the form. It was revealed to be a man with brown hair. The attacker then knocked the man to the ground. The man fell and the other threw his fist down on the uncovered head of the man, crushing his skull. It all happened in about 10 seconds. Then the attacker fell to the ground, dead before he hit the ground. He had 30 bullet wounds in his side.
Mark pulled off his helmet and walked over to the armored man. He was dead, which was obvious with his brains all over the ground. Mark then walked over to the other man. He checked his pulse. Nothing. He let out a sigh of relief. Jacob removed his helmet, then walked over. He pulled out a pad and tapped it a few times. The armor and the body disintegrated.
Mark looked at Joshua and said, “Wish we could just give him a proper funeral.”
Joshua’s blank face was a statement enough.
Mark place his helmet back on his blonde head, then quietly lifted the dead body from the ground and threw it over his shoulder. He said over the comm., ”Lets get out of here before his friends show up.”
