• ~Prologue~
Geez. I'm never going to get to the airport on time. Samantha Cole checked her watch. Nope. My plane leaves in half an hour and I'm not even there yet. Sam needed this vacation. A vacation from her honeymoon. Sure, it started off alright. It was the perfect honeymoon until she walked in on her brand new husband with the laundry girl. SCREWING the laundry girl. Oh god. I need to get that image out of my head. Sam rapped her nails on the dividing glass between her and the taxi driver. "Excuse me sir? I'm so sorry to rush you, but I have a plane to catch in like, 20 minutes!" The taxi driver looked back. "I'll get you there when I get you there lady. Have you seen this traffic?" Ugh. "Okay, thank you sir! That's very kind of you." Sam rolled her eyes.
tab Fifteen minutes later, the taxi cab rolled up to John F. Kennedy International Airport. Oh my god. I might actually make it. Thank god I checked in online. Sam pulled out her ticket to Jamaica and clutched it like it was a lifeline between her and some alternate universe. She pulled her bag (she had made sure that it was small enough to fit in the overhead compartment) and ran to find her gate. Let's see. B-1, B-2, oh thank god, B-3! And they are just beginning to board! Sam ran to get in line. Five minutes later, Sam was tucked into her first class seat with her tray table in the upright and locked position, ready for takeoff. What the hell is taking so long? I just want to have a little time to myself to forget that awful sight... no. Don't think about it Sam. Oh, god. Such a bad image. Sam reached for the button to call the flight attendant. "Excuse me. I realize that the plane hasn't taken off yet... but do you suppose you could get me a small chardonnay? I'm a bit of a nervous flyer. You can? Great, thanks."
