• Chapter One

"Can you hear that?" she asked
"I still no idea what you are talking about Tif. What?" he replied
    Tump
"There it is again!" Tif said as she scrambled to her feet. "Start looking in those boxes, check everything! Oh, this time you are mine! Oh. And Mark?"
    "Yes Tif?" Mark said.
" Don't scream when you see it this time. The cops could have come and i'm sure the last thing Varquez wants is," she paused mid-sentence looking around her again. Startaled, she stoped looking aroung when her gaze reached a small chest. The chest was very dusty. With many embroderings on it. As well as a small pale green jem on the top.
"What the heck is that?" mark said as his eyes widend at the sight of it. Tif kneeled down next to it, examing the small box. Mark hovered over her. His breath colder.
"Hey Mark, if your arent feeling good you can go on without me i'll meet you..." as she spoke Marks icy hands wrapped around her neck, tightening everytime she struggeled.
"Don't scream Tif. You don't want the cops to come, now do you?" he let out a synister laugh. Then droped Tif on the ground. She tried to reach for the box, but Mark was to quick for her in this state. As he walked out of the room, Tif faded into unconsiness.

She opened her eyes slightly. The room, though ,was to bright for her eyes to ujust to quickly. She felt helpless there in the open. Cold, unprotected, and nothing to defend her self with.
    Ping
It was her Comm. Watch. Relizing she hadn't sent head quarters her status in a long time. She pulled her self up to the wall. Then turning her watch on Communication mode. Tif scrolled though all her messages till she came to the most recent. It was from Dr. Varquez himself. It read:

    Tif

It has been precicly 3.2 hours since you left. Neither you nor Mark has answer your Comm. watches. I'm sending someone to get you. Remember, stay calm, stay low, stay safe.

    Varquez

A letter from the Doctor himself? Tif thought to herself This must be pretty important.
"Tif? Oh Tif! " a womens voice called to her "She's Over here! Dan please bring the cot. Poor thing. Tif dear can you hear me?" The womens words faded away just as she spoke them.
    "Yes" Tif said groggly.
"Tif dear you just go right back asleep. Varquez sent us. You'll be safe. Just go back to sleep, sweetheart."
"great..." Tif rememberd saying before she fell back asleep

    Chapter two

"You failed" Dr. Varquez said as Tif wrung out her hair. "After all your training! I just wanted the best"
"I am the best! All the training HAS changed me. I'm not human anymore."
"Yes, but you are still partly human. All your blood test show you still are." he said.
"Partly!" Tif exclaimed " Most people that have come to this place barely make it passed the first few tests, and i'm partly human now? I'm the best their will ever be!"
" And yet you have lost 3 partners and alomost your life. Is that what it takes to be the best? Is that what you would have to lose?" He questioned her.
Tif stared at her hands. she looked up to the sound of Varquez wheelchair rolling out of the room. "please Tif I don't want to lose you to those monsters like Mark."
"Wait, Varquez. I know it was because he was infected, but why did he turn on us? Our best chance at killing them all would be someone on their side. You know, double agent. Mark knew that. We, us two, have been talking about that ever since we became partners.
"And what are we really up against here? Every mission I've been on, i've only seen glimses of them. It's been bugging me for the longest time. Jack, the 14 year old that came last year, has already fought 7! I've been here for almost all my life and haven't even been close to fighting one let allown knowing what they are!" Tif paused hoping Varquez would answer- when she saw he wasn't answering anything. She went on.
"You tolled me 7 years ago and still tell me this ' We are the Hunters, born only to kill our pray, the Hunted' Who the heck are the hunted? Bigfoot? Ghosts? Dwarfs? Just answer my question and i'll never bug you again"
He turned his wheelchair slightly. "What is your question Tif?" Her eyes beamed when he spoke.
"What isn't my question is what you should have asked! Who are 'They', 'The Hunted?"
"I'm not answering that." He turned his wheel chair back around and headed for the door.
"VArquez! You said you would answer my questuion! You better fess up!" If she could, tif would have shot out of the hospital bed and followed him but the cast on left leg wasn't leting that happen.
" I never said anything of the such!" He exclaimed " I merly asked you ' What's your question' not ' I'll answer any question you want." His hand slid past the light switch. The room faded into complet darkness with what little light came in from the door. She heard him whisper good night. She managed a slight nod to the stubborn old man. Then he nodded back.
She bundled up into what small blanket she had been givin and fell asleep. Again.

"Tif?" someones voice called to her. "Tif? Wake up! Tif Anne, Wake up! For hevens sake! Wake Up!"
Tif bundled in to as make of the blanket as she could. Tring to drown out the person, and let her self go back to sleep.
    That wasn't happening.
" What the heck do you freaking want!" Tif yelled as she threw the small blanket off of her.
"Uh... Um... Var-Varquez said that you, you would be down here... " as the boy babbled on, Tif managed to drown him out. She concentrated on the boys mind. One of her most powerful abilitys, she could read humans minds.

ALMOST THERE! I just have to get off now.... It will be done tomorrow!
