• The news had swept through the school, Ashley, had a new crush. His name was Justin, and he was a senior. Justin was one of those kids who didn't make a huge impact on the school, was a little odd, and, to Ashley, an unknown.

Sure, it's odd! I mean, I've crushed on a classmate of his but... I don't know, it's just hes different from everyone in the school... Sort of like me... It's just... I don't have words to describe these feelings... Hes not the best looking but... His hair is just... and his smile... I just...

I've only talked to him a few times... I'm even thinking of trying to send him an e-mail on the school site... I don't know how he'll react though... Will he think I'm to forward?

He has known for weeks now... I've worn his jersey a few times too! I catch his eyes and it's just pure happiness for those few, precious seconds... I... I just burst with joy when I think of those moments and then- I remember... I can't date him... He'll be gone next year... Then a bad funk rolls in... And then as soon as I think of those moments, the cycle starts again! I still remember that day I asked him if I could wear his jersey....

I asked a friend to help me, because, believe it or not, I'm shy. Extremely.

"J-m-" Emily says, being cut of at the begining of his nickname, J-mac.

"No!" He retorts back, not even listening.

Em refuses to help me anymore, everyone else I could ask is gone... I walk up to him, not knowing what to say, wondering if I look okay.

"Juh-juh..." I stutter out, ask he begins to walk away a burst of courage works through my body.

"Justin, could I uhm..." The courage disipates quickly once I see him actually listening.

"Could I wear your jersey to the game?!" I blurt out, almost slurring my words in my worry.

"Well, yea, sure." He says, but then he starts to walk away.

"Uhm... Wait- when- how can I get it? We don't have school tomorrow."

"Well, I'm gonna be up here, eating at 4:00 before the game, so you can just reach into my pick-up and get it."

"Ok!" I say, embarrasing myself once again because of blurting.

He walks out the door, and my friend Em, once again fails me, and ditches me, so I have to walk a long block home. Guess who was just pulling out when I stepped out the doors of the high school? Justin. I turn the corner to go home, and I see his lights come up behind me and then he drives past. I don't even look to see if he is looking, because I have a feeling he is.

Previously that day, my friend honked at him as we drove past him, and we stopped to talk to Ethan, who was talking to Justin. Em and Ethan both give me and Justin crapt, and then we decide to go into the gym and shoot some hoops while we wait for One Act to start.
