• Chapter One
    Dauphin Island
    The Beginning

“Aya. Aya, wake up.” A gentle hand was nudging her, trying to wake her.

    “Mmmm…” Aya mumbled, sleepily.

“Wake up! The bell just rang!” a louder voice shouted, less than a foot from her ear.

“Ah!” Aya jumped out of the desk, pulling on her hat and grabbing her backpack from beside her chair, “Sorry!” she said, yawning.

“Morning, sleeping beauty. Have a nice nap?” Alex asked, crossing her arms and putting a joking glare on her face.

“No! I was fighting the whole time! And the I got swallowed up by Darkness after I beat a Darkside, only it looked like my shadow instead of Sora’s!” Aya told them.

Alex shook her head, “You mom’s right. You shouldn’t play Kingdom Hearts. You’re going crazy on us, Aya.” Alex told her, grinning.

“You were in it too!” Aya said, defensively, “You asked me a question out of some girly personality quiz! It was—“ Alex interrupted her.

“What are you most afraid of?” Alex said, blinking, staring at Aya as though she’d been struck by lightning.

“Yeah!” Aya nodded, “But… how’d you know?” she asked Alex.

“Guys, let’s go. The longer we stand here the harder it’ll be raining outside.” Misa said, pointing out the window to the downpour that was outside.

“… Okay.” Alex said, unsurely, stepping outside and pulling her umbrella out, “My house is the closest, she was can stay there while the rain is here. It should be gone in 15 minutes, tops.” She said, looking up at the sky, she could already see the edge of the clouds overhead.

“And then we’ll go to the beach!” Misa cheered.

Aya was already running towards Alex’s house, attempting to cover all 12 zippers on her hat, dress, and shoes.

“And this is why you need to remember your umbrella!” Alex shouted after her, collapsing the umbrella and running after Aya, the warm rain pounding her face, as she caught and surpassed Aya.

Misa ran after them, “Don’t leave me!” she shouted, desperately trying to keep up.
Alex burst through the front door of the gigantic house. Small kids were running through the hall, and in the living room 3 of the older kids were watching TV. As soon as she came in, Alex was almost tackled by two of the youngest ones, twins. “Big Sis is home!” the girl cheered. Alex laughed, “Can you let go, Becca? Pretty please, Billy?” she asked, giving them the cutest face she could muster. A woman with curly orange hair popped her head out of the kitchen, “Welcome home, Alex.” She said, gently.

“Thanks, Jen.” Alex told her foster mom, “Me and Aya and Misa are just waiting for the rain to stop so we can head out to the beach.” She said as she walked into the kitchen.

“Hey, Miss Dana!” Aya shouted as she ran in, dripping wet with Misa following behind her, “I’m going to use your dryer, KthnksBai!” she said, quickly as she ran towards the laundry room.

Misa slipped off her boots, entering the kitchen and opening up the fridge, starting to wrap things up for the trip to the beach. Suddenly, she screamed, and Alex ran in, “Misa? What is it?!” she demanded.

“Your OUT of MELON BREAD!” she shouted, looking horrorstruck.

Alex shook her head. “There’s more in the fridge.” Alex said, pointing in the kitchen, “Anything else you want to be melodramatic about at the moment?” she asked, smirking at Misa.

“No.” Misa shook her head, laughing. Aya stepped out to the kitchen, in her underwear and a towel, and grabbed a soda from the pile Misa was making. As she did, her towel slipped, revealing a pair of black underwear, with a zipper down the front of the bra and tassels on the underwear.

“Your Undies are so cute!” Misa said, with a squee, “It looks sort of like an Organization Cloak’s design!”

Aya giggled, “I know! I made it myself!” Aya said, with a mouth full of Coke just as the doorbell rang. Jen’s voice drifted in from the hall, “Yes, she’s here but…” suddenly Joey burst into the kitchen. Aya yelled something incoherently before pounding Joey on the head. He ran out of the kitchen. “I tried to warn you, Joey.” Jen said almost apologetically.

Alex left the room, as the dryer buzzed and Aya got busy getting dressed again. The rain was over and as Joey left (after planning a date for the next day) Alex smiled, “So, to the beach?” she asked, smiling.

“Yep, the storm just finished, so we can go see what washed up!” Aya said, excitedly.

“Dibs on any buried treasure or fossils we find!” Alex said, jokingly, as they left the house. The boardwalk over the swampy part of Dauphin Island was slick with fresh rain. This part of the walk always scared Misa, who demanded that they guard her from alligators. But once they were at the beach, her mood lightened extremely. Spending the rest of the day there, they finally started walking back around 8 PM, the sun just starting to set behind them.

Alex was walking backwards, facing Misa and Aya, “This was great! I found…” she stopped dead, as her eyes had been wandering around she was now staring at the sky behind the two, “Guys… turn around.” She told them, quietly.

“IS IT AN ALLIGATOR?!” Misa cried out.

“No.” was all Alex could manage, as Aya and Misa turned around and immediately saw what she was talking about. In the sky above them was a large orb of swirling colors, mostly purple, black and red. All three of their faces were pale, and Aya gasped as a black creature came up from the ground. “A Heartless?!” Aya and Misa shouted, dumbstruck. Alex remained firmly silent, staring at it in disbelief before looking around, seeing two wooden swords floating on the muck beside her, no doubt left there by some of the grade school boys; she bent quickly to grab them, “Aya! Take this!” she shouted, throwing one to her.

“What good are these going to do?!” Aya demanded.

“I don’t know, but it’s the only thing we have!” Alex said running forward, only to slip in a puddle. Suddenly, she was swarmed, and she brought her arms up to cover her face, one thought filled her mind, and the Heartless stopped dead.

“Alex!” Aya shouted, running forward. As she swung down, her Wooden Sword transformed into what looked like a Black and Purple Kingdom Key.

“Alex! Alex, are you hurt?!” Aya asked.

Alex stood up, “No… not hurt. Just stuck.” she mumbled, looking down at herself as the Darkness flickered around her, as she was already ankle deep in a portal of darkness. Black cords were crawling around her.

Aya gasped, “Alex! Get out of it!” she shouted, holding out a hand.

“Aya, I can’t! I’m stuck. Besides, if we don’t leave we’ll disappear with the rest of the world. Look at what’s in your hand. You are a Keyblade master. Now hurry up and come with me!” she said, trying to stretch her hand to meet Aya’s, not noticing Misa fade from view.

“No! We don’t know where it goes!” Aya said, her hand falling against her side, as a second portal formed itself.

Alex sighed, her eyes showing how hurt she was, as the cords constricted themselves around her chest and arms, “Then I’ll see you around, Aya. Have fun!” she said, smiling for a brief second before she disappeared from Earth.

“Alex!” Aya shouted, staring at the second portal, and then back at her new found weapon. “Alex is right…” she mumbled, “Come on, Misa!” she said, looking around she realized Misa was missing, “Aw hell. Misa?!” she shouted. The world was dissolving away around her, and the spot with the portal was almost gone. “Be safe.” She whispered, before stepping into the portal and disappearing moments before the world was gone.

    Author's Comments/

Well? How’d you like it? I know it’s really similar to the start of Kingdom Hearts…. But I wasn’t really sure how else to do it. XP So anyway, now a bit about how this started. This is a co-production between my friend, Aya and myself. Half of this is currently written at anywhere between 9PM and 1AM (which is when I go to bed). And yes, I realize I have sort of a deficiency in describing things that are going on around the characters. >_> I do try my best to do it, though. And some things just can’t be described. Oh, and we are NOT (I repeat are NOT) doing all Disney worlds. We’re mainly doing Anime or Movie worlds (so far the only worlds that we plan on doing that are in any of the KH games are Twilight Town, Atlantica, and Halloween Town/Christmas Town) Please Rate and Review! Tell me what I’m doing right or wrong. Please don’t call anyone a Mary Sue… I do my best not to make them too M-S-ish. xP Oh, also Aya pointed out that it might seem a little sexually biased that all 3 of the main characters from Earth are girls… but what were we supposed to do? Gender bend poor Misa-chan into a boy? XD (We’re actually planning to do a Gender Bending world later... Laughs galore.)

The picture is a Candybar Doll Maker creation of the one and only Alex! This is the character based on me, and I have to say how fun it is to write her stuff, because it comes so naturally!
