• Chapter one: An encounter with a Vampire

"Hold out your hand, and count to three." A deep dark voice said.
I held my hand out. "What is going on?" I whispered.
"Just count to three, I promise you, you won't feel a thing." the voice said.
"One...T...T..Two...Three." As something sharp pentrating my skin. I could feel blood oozing out of my left palm. I held back the urge to scream in pain, I knelt down to my knees and opened my eyes. Blood all over my hand, but not just my hand, but my whole body was bleeding.
"What is happening to me?" I said, looking up to see a mysterious figure in front of me. "Who are you?"
The person grinned, and disappeared. Then I heard a bell ring. I shot open my eyes to see I was in bed.
"Was a nightmare," I sighed loudly, looking at my left palm, to make sure it wasn't a dream. "Thank, God." I laid back down on my bed.
I rolled to the side, and looked at the clock. 8 o'clock! "OMG, I'm late for class!" I jumped out of bed and got into my school uniform, green and white plaid skirt, and a white button top shirt. I reached for a green and black tie with my school's symbol on, "FA" in funny looking writing. ope I'm not late for class, I closed my eyes to remember a spell.
"Okay..." I said. "When being late is not a problem, take me to magic class on the double."
When I opened my eyes, I found myself in my first period magic class. But when I looked around, everyone was in the front of the class.
I saw my friends Aqua, and Savanna behind everyone, crying. "What's wrong?" I asked.
    "Ashli, she's dead," Savanna whispered.
    "What?" I gasped.
"A vampire bit her, and she turned into fairy ashes." Aqua said, rubbing her eyes.
Vampires, Harpies, and Nymphs are enemies of the fairies, while Warriors, Werewolves and Wizards are friends. However, there is a boundary between the enemies and allies. No one can enter enemy territory unless they have permission from the Head Masters of the Academies.
"How did a vampire enter the campus?" I asked.
They shrugged. "Master Lee said that she is going to cancel classes until they find Ashli's murderer." Aqua said, standing up and walked out of the room.
Ashli was the Fire Fairy, and the top student in the forth year students. By far she was the most powerful fairy in the campus, but what puzzled me was how a vampire killed her?
Head Master Lee walked up to me. "Ai, may I speak to you in the office?" she asked.
I nodded. "Of course, Master Lee." As she snapped her fingers and we appeared in her office. "Sit down, Aisha."
I sat down on a chair near her desk. Her office was huge, with so many textbooks, and spell books, it made me feel like I was in a library.
"Aisha, your training teacher, Coach Jun, said that you have been improving a lot lately, she even said that your powers are starting to show, and she had asked me to train you myself."
When I first attended the school, my powers were uncontrollable, I could never control the power. But over the past two years I've been getting better at handling my powers.
Master Lee grabbed something from the shelf, it was a white folder, and it has my name on it. Master Lee opened the folder and a hologram of me appeared. "It says here that your powers are unknown," she said, softly. "Can you please demonstrate an attack?" she asked.
    "An attack?"
She nodded. "I would like to see what type of power you got."
I nodded, in my hand I was forming a small fire in my hand, and then it got bigger, and then water, wind and earth surrounded the fire, and it became a ball of fire. "Element meteor." As I threw the ball towards the Head Master.
Head Master Lee put up a shield of ice around her, and fired an ice shard at the element meteor. The shard froze the ball, and the element meteor shattered into a million pieces.
"Interesting," Head Master Lee said. "You have the ability of elements, I never had a student at the academy that has the power of the elements." As she took a shard and placed it into the folder, and closed it. "That is all for now, why don't you go on to your dorm."
I nodded, and left the room. My stomach was growling, I was starving. "I didn't eat any breakfast, and it was lunch time. The cafe was on the other side of campus, it would take me twenty minutes to get there, so I might as well just walk there, can't do magic with an empty stomach." I said, walking out of the dorm and headed to the cafe.
As I passed the old oak tree, I saw a figure in the darkness. "Hello?" I said, walking over, the figure disappeared.
I looked away, and saw a young teenage boy in front of me. He had amber red eyes, dark brown hair, but what really got me was that he was paler than a ghost. He must be a vampire.
"What are you doing on enemy territory, vampire?" I hissed.
"Well, well, at least you noticed that I was a vampire." His voice was dark, but there was something else in his voice, I don't know what it was, but he sounded as though he was in pain.
I looked down and saw he was wounded badly. "How did you get that?" I asked.
"I was attacked, by something, I was attacked on my side of the boarder, and I guess I wondered into enemy territory." As he winced.
"Let me help you," I said, reaching out.
"Don't, I'm going to be alright," he said.
"I don't think so," I said, looking around. "No one is here, come on, I will take you to the boarder line, and I will help you." I said, holding my hand out.
He looked disgusted, but he grabbed my hand, and I helped him walk to the boarder. On our way to the boarder, I found some herbs that my health teacher said that can be use to heal creature's wounds quickly.
We made it to the boarder, and I gently put him to his side of the boarder, and treated him there. I grabbed my handkerchief from my pocket and put it on his wound. "There that should help your cut." I said, walking away.
"Thank you," he said politely. "I never would thought I would say that to an enemy."
"You know what, sometimes I wish all the creatures would all be friends," I whispered.
"You are different, why did you help me?" he asked.
"Let's just say that I AM different." I walked away.
"Wait, you know that fairy that was killed recently?" he asked.
I turned around. "Yes, she was killed by one of your kind." I said.
"No it wasn't, it was something else that killed her, something that attacked someone from my kind." He said.
    "What?"
"We thought it was a fairy or a warrior that killed one of my kind, but then we discovered it wasn't any of our enemy, it was something else, but we don't know," he said. "I was sent from my Head Master to talk to the Head of Fairy Academy, but I was attacked."
"I see," I said. "I will give this information to the Head Master."
"Wait, you can't, no one would believe you," he said.
"That's true..." Before I could finish the sentence, I heard the bell ring for class. "I have to go," I said, as my wings popped out.
"Wait, can I ask you something?" he said.
    I nodded.
"What is your name?" he asked.
"It's Ai," I said, flying away.
"My name is Cai!" he shouted back.
I heard him. Cai, the vampire who told me that his kind didn't kill Ashli, but if it wasn't his kind, then who killed her?
