Themis, the Goddess of Justice. She is the daughter of Gaia and Uranus - earth and sky.
Themis was the embodiment of divine order, law and custom and those who opposed justice were punished swiftly and severely.
She is often seen carrying a set of scales in her left hand to weigh up both sides of a case, and a sword in her right hand to divide the power of Reason and Justice. Themis also wears a blindfold, to indicate that "justice is blind".
