I know I messed up in a lot of places (especially the alignment of the mouth, and inside her mouth) but I'm really happy with the shading (:
I'm still a beginner at drawing realistic people (my main focus is anime/manga style).
{My Joe Jonas one got a lot of negative feedback and ratings - especially because they didn't like the person. And it was my first realistic peace anyways... So please judge fairly.}

I'm thinking maybe your scanner hacked up your shading a bit?
I know that it seems like her face in the picture doesn't have a lot of shading/depth to it, but you really can see the distinction. Her face is round; you didn't shade it as much. You did a little bit of depth just under her nose and under her jaw, in the neck area, but those aren't the only places that needed it. Just revise a little with some more definition around the face. - Report As Spam

I really like Ayumi Hamasaki and this piece really does her justice. ^^ Awesome job. I really can't find much wrong with it. (and the much part is very, very, very small)

- Its really amazing. I've only been doing realism for a few years but I still can't get hair to look anywhere near as good as that!! The only criticism would be that one eye is waayyy smaller than the other & you're right the mouth is a little off but tis really really good!!

for being a beginner this piece is really good
then agian all you need to be doing is keep practicing if ppl criticize and dont give advice then they are just plain stupid
in my opinion I like this piece i like nd i like to take both good and bad criticism because i kw that way i could be able to improve my drawings =]
