Dollie sitting on a shelf,
silent as a house elf.
Ruffled blue bonnet
and hair ribbon too,
all her frilled garments
as though brand new.
Endearing expression
and lace petticoat,
awake or asleep
upon her I dote.
Childhood toy long forgot,
ties my heart up in a knot.
